IBM eServer Win Best Of Show At LinuxWorld

IBM announced that IBM eServer won the highest award at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo held in San Francisco last week. As well as IBM's commitment to Linux.

IBM eServer iSeries earned a "Best of Show" in the annual competition that values outstanding achievement. This competition is held by the open source community. Previously, the IBM eServer z900, also won top honors at LinuxWorld, New York in February.

In addition, Dr. Daniel Frye, director of IBM Linux Technology Center, won the "Golden Penguin". This award, penguin-shaped glasses made of brass and gold plated. Award given to the team that won the Golden Penguin Bowl.

This is a quiz game that exposes two teams consisting of figures of the leading open source and viewer program to test their knowledge about the industry and the development of open software. Linux Technology Center is IBM's group of 200 people who work directly with the open source community to enhance the development of Linux.

Obtain the latest award is in line with efforts to further strengthen IBM's commitment to Linux and open source community by giving support to Linux on all eServernya product line.

"Received the award" Best of Show "is a pride for IBM and our customers," said Kim Stevenson, Vice President Marketing, IBM Server Group. "This confirms IBM's commitment to Linux and product capabilities of our eServer Linux to provide integrated solutions and class mainframe to our customers.
